Visionet started as an AS/400 Y2K conversion tool company. We built a sophisticated RPG/Cobol parser. The same parser was later enhanced for business logic extraction to facilitate .NET conversions.

Converting green-screen RPG into a modern environment is a challenge. One should expect certain RPG expressions, no matter how well they've served in the green screen environment, to be persona non grata in the modern, object-oriented world of NET. There is no equivalent to “CYCLE” in Java or .NET. As such there is no automated code conversion.

Visionet’s RPG conversion strategy is a hybrid of utilities and manual coding. Our ESF.NET platform provides most of the architectural framework as we plug in the business logic in it.
